Platform
One product, two CAD platforms. Easy Bridge® works in AutoCAD® and in ZWCAD 2026 — the same product, the same logic, the same project in a single file. Choosing your CAD isn't a choice for life.
One product, two platforms
Easy Bridge® is one application for both AutoCAD and ZWCAD — the same logic, the same workflows. In both cases the project is the same .eBridge file: the entire parametric bridge model in one place, not scattered across the drawing. It ships as part of the Easy CAD / EasySolutions package, which — beyond bridges — includes a large set of general design tools (terrain, 3D geometry, sections, take-offs, reinforcement, printing).
What Easy Bridge® builds on ZWCAD
A change to the alignment or the vertical profile propagates through the whole model, and elements can be redrawn. The modelling window has 31 tabs grouped by the designer's workflow.
Horizontal and vertical alignment, superelevation, offsets, edges and alignment elements as the model's input.
Foundations, piers, piles, intermediate and end abutments, wing walls, slope cones and stairs, blinding concrete, formwork.
Placing bearings, including a database of bearings and plinths.
Beams seated on the substructure, with axis groups and bearings.
Tendons, prestressing geometry and take-offs.
The 3D model (Solid, Surface and PolyFaceMesh), drawing documentation, quantity take-off and BIM data.
BIM on ZWCAD
ZWCAD has neither Autodesk Property Sets nor Civil 3D. BIM on ZWCAD is therefore our own implementation — and that's a strength, not a weakness: we store data sets directly in native DWG structures, with no external database and no dependency on Autodesk Architecture. The data travels with the drawing.
Property groups, object types, a colour list, layers, CCI classification codes and the project stage (DUR / DSP / PDPS / RDS) are defined in Excel — no programming.
You pick entities and an element type from the catalogue. The window writes the property set, sets the layer and colour, fills in default values and CCI, computes quantities (area, volume, length) from the geometry, and the chainage from the axis.
Data is stored in native ZWCAD dictionaries inside the DWG — it survives closing, reopening and PURGE, and needs no database alongside.
Multi-sheet export to Excel and import back, which merges values into existing property sets — do bulk editing in a spreadsheet and return it to the model.
When you draw the bridge, elements receive their data sets automatically — element type, material, concrete class, chainage and quantities are taken straight from the bridge model, in dozens of places (foundations, piers, piles, abutments, approach slabs, beams, elements from sections). Manual assignment is then only for entities that didn't come from the bridge model.
Assigned property sets appear directly in ZWCAD's native IFC palette, in its own element tree — without us changing your geometry. The entity keeps its identity and the bridge model stays intact; our format remains primary and the projection into the native schema can be regenerated at any time (re-running does not duplicate data).
Honestly
The AutoCAD version is the primary development line and the ZWCAD version is continuously synchronised from it. We don't claim "full parity" — on ZWCAD some features are built on our own implementation instead of Autodesk technologies:
| Civil 3D tools | Not available — ZWCAD has no Civil 3D API. This concerns Civil surfaces and water runoff. Easy CAD's terrain and DTM run on our own code. |
| BIM | Our own implementation (not Autodesk Property Sets). It works, but the architecture is different. |
| Quantities | A snapshot at the moment of assignment — they don't recompute by themselves after geometry changes; reassign to update. |
| IFC | We can import IFC (facetted geometry) and show our data in ZWCAD's native palette. We don't export an IFC file. |
| Some windows | Some windows on ZWCAD are still in WinForms form; migration is under way. They are functionally equivalent. |
| New features | The ZWCAD version catches up with the AutoCAD version in batches, so the newest features may arrive with a delay. |
Interoperability
| Project | .eBridge — the entire model in one file |
| Drawing | DWG (native ZWCAD) |
| IFC | Import of facetted geometry; data shown in ZWCAD's native IFC palette |
| Excel | Export and import of BIM data; the BIM standard is loaded from Excel; quantity take-off |
| LandXML | Export of surfaces / terrain |
| Batch printing, multi-sheet layouts |
Localisation
The interface is in Slovak and English (switch with AE_JAZYK). Every command has an English alias — the Slovak AE_* and the English EAE_* — so the English menu calls English commands.
